Perfect weather for the race. 13 miles and some 800m of ascent over good tracks with fantastic views. Every year the organisation gets better, and organiser Sheila gets more ingenious in winkling out goodies and prizes from local businesses and ensuring comprehensive marshalling and course marking. Great soup, and haggis neeps and tatties prepared by the volunteers in the kitchen. Prize winners came away with an eclectic mix of Selkirk Bannocks, huge spuds and turnips, and mighty haggises won by the 1st man and lady, and me (out of pity I think), thanks to local butchers and greengrocers and Sainsbury’s Local. Proceeds to Tweed Valley Mountain Rescue.
31 Carnethies took part. Iain Gilmore finished 3rd, Craig Mattocks 5th and Graham Nash 7th to take the team prize. Stewart Whitlie was first in his category. Kate Jenkins 4th lady (and 2nd V40) Results
