The last race of the Borders XC series at Galashiels started with bright sunshine (if only we’d had this at the C5 the day before!), but on the return leg I was glad I’d tied my jacket around my waist and strugged back into this as I found myself running straight into a snow storm, desperately trying to overtake Vicki who had stayed ahead of me through most of the race. Next we were running through a wood and crossing a river with the help of a rope, and then I was knee deep in mud. A wee boy was poised nearby to take photos, but was laughing so much he forgot to use his camera (thank goodness!).
For the fifth year running, Carnethy scooped the Team prize for this series, in addition to several individual prizes. Final results are here.
