The Teams met up at Kings Buidings. There were 17ish in the first wave including Britton Smith on his last Carnethy run, and they headed for the first tee with a nice route over Blackford. They started the round well with a few pars and no lost balls. Half an our later the second wave set off for the golf course by the direct route across Craigmillar Park. The 7:30 start was at tee No 10 and as we started off we could see the earlier lot only one hole behind. We kept our heads as we sprinted Tee to Green, just managing to stave them off until the 18th tee, where we congregated and wished Britton well before finishing the round in a flurry of about 30 runners. Jogging back the keensters summited Blackford and the others headed back direct to KB. At the 19th Hole (Leslie’s Bar), we drowned our sorrows and said our goodbyes to Britton.
