The Ochils rise dramatically above Tillicoultry, which means a steep ascent on this short 4 mile race, which then descends, turns at a large rock, and retraces its steps. Or nearly as I managed to lead a small breakaway the wrong way for a minor detour. 2 places lost but not to V60s so no problem. Dramatic skies and views today, breezy and mild. It feels very different to Tinto but looking at the stats is only slightly shorter and almost the same amount of ascent.
This race is in the best traditions of low key Scottish hill racing, and has a bumper feast to round things off. Thanks to Ochil Hill Runners for this and the event. They are sponsored by Harviestoun brewery hence beery prizes for Michelle Hetherington, first lady and also 1st FV50, and myself first M60. Chocolate was also involved. Graham was 5th overall.
