This was slightly misleadingly billed as an ultra last year, my suunto made it all of 0.6 miles over marathon distance so it was definitely more accurately named this year! The course was tough but really lovely with many stretches familiar from Feel the Burns and the club Tweed valley run. A lot of the downhills were on MTB paths so really good fun to bomb down. In the interests of West Highland Way training I was doing this on top of a hard week to practice the whole “running on tired legs” thing. Worked a treat I would say, with the continual uphill stretch between miles 22 and 24 being especially character building. Great race with unusually good medals (hand made by a small social enterprise place in Aberfeldy).
