You wouldn’t believe how many photos this site has collected over the past decade. Despite keeping firm control over the file sizes, there are still well over 30,000 photos taking up 1.5GB of space, and that’s not counting those stored on the Picasa servers.
We love getting your photos with reports. To make our life and bandwidth easier please downsize photos to about 1500px wide, or basically email sized. We don’t need or use high resolution photos. If you have no idea how to do this just google ‘downsize photos’ or somesuch. There are sites online which will do it for you.
A selection from past photos and Photo Pick will be shown randomly in the sidebar under ‘Pics from the Past’
Note to webbers: The gallery to add past photos to is a NextGen gallery ‘General; not quite Photopick’. Go to ‘Gallery’ in the dashboard (down the bottom in the sidebar), go to ‘Add Gallery/Images’, pick the second option ‘Import from WordPress Media Library’ and scroll the Gallery button down to probably the last one – ‘General; not quite Photopick’ and click ‘Select’. This takes you to the media library where you can add images. Follow the obvious steps that follow.
