Ice cream weather and ‘Taps Aff’ day for certain, lovely and warm! The hillside was heady with the smell of gorse – just wonderful. Dry and good running under-foot, The top of the scree descent off Whinny is growing in – need a volunteer with decent clippers to attend!
Jamie got a sub 30 and passed Cameron.
“Coming off Arthur’s seat having to change racing line several times to dodge all the tourists / walkers enjoying the sun! Dessie caught me going up Dunsapie , and gave me a target to hang onto. Taps were aff, then mine went back on for the squeeze thru the gorse and the screes. Dessie was taking the descent easy – still feeling Ben Lomond in his legs. I nearly caught him at the finish but he had a last kick left.”
Big welcome to first timer Murray who Cameron escorted round for a good first time.
Everyone beat their handicap today but it was Mike Jones with some good recent recce’s out in front for the win.
Next one is 4 June.
