Ian Jackson is just a blur

It was the best turnout yet for the Handicap Series - 23 club members attended to ran the Carlops handicap on a dry, bright and breezy evening.  The race followed the burn up to North Esk Reservoir, then a cross-country route to the foot of West Kip and back along the undulating and very run-able ridge of Spittal Hill and Patie's Hill.  While several runners took slight deviations on the route (including myself), there was good grouping on the run in, and most of us crossed the finish line in close procession.  This gave the organiser some difficulty recording the finish times!  Ian Jackson won the race by a mere 10 seconds behind Adam Ward who ran the fastest time.  Adam started last but managed to make up all-but-one place before the end. As darkness fell we proceeded to the Alan Ramsay for supper and drinks. Despite all efforts, Alan MacDonald holds on to a remarkable 13-point lead in the series, having managed to get an unbeatable triple maximum-point score to date.
