Ravensheugh Handicap

It was a litle windy at the start

The tide was unusually high as we assembled for the third race of the series, the flat out-and-back race on Ravensheugh Beach. Keith declared that the race would be the 'short course' due to the high tide rendering the 'cove' un-passable. Rapid recalculations of the handicaps were required to suit the new course, before the small group headed off towards Tantallon Castle. My handicaps and Colin's mental arithmetic were good - all runners finished within 5 minutes (except Bill who doesn't like the rocks!). Our two newcomers to the series performed very well: Phillipa finished in first place and Derek ran the fastest time. Keith had the bar-b-que going when we got back, and several visitors had arrived to share the goodies.
