A splendid sunny evening was enjoyed the 15 runners who turned out for the
Romannobridge handicap. Most runners kept to the route OK with just a few
minor deviations being reported, and fantastic views were to be seen over
the Pentlands from the tops. With many of the regulars away on a 'Club holiday'
there were plenty of points up for grabs in this race, and as the winner and
2 others were visitors, there were high scores for all Club finishers. Kate
Friend took maximum points by winning her first Club handicap race, despite
the efforts of runners up Alun and Brad, who ran the fastest times.
Saddest tale was that of Olly Stevenson, who was having a storming run until
he injured an ankle and had to limp home;-best wishes for a speedy recovery.
We proceeded to the Romanno Inn for dinner, after admiring a superb sunset
and full moon.
