Silverburn Handicap 16th April 03
Organiser: Willie Gibson

Nick Shierloh skied down the pack close up on South Black Hill Ian Jackson Willie Gibson chose an excellent route Ian Forrest the sun setting on Ian Jackson!

The 2003 Handicap season kicked off on a fabulous sunny evening at Silverburn with a new route over Braid Law, Cap Law, The Kips and South Black Hill. The running was on good paths most of the way, with some challenging climbs and heathery descents, providing a great short course. The handicapping produced a tight finish, ably recorded by Cali and assistants on the finish line. The race was won by Alan MacDonald, after receiving a good handicap start time, while Brad ran the fastest time, and Brian added a mile or so to the route before being rounded up by the farmer. We retired to the Steading for some excellent food and refreshment, where we managed to try out just about every option on the menu, between us.
