Arthur's Seat

Organiser Nick Macdonald

Ard-na-Saighead, the Height of the Arrows. Probably so called because it was the site of a settlement with a bronze-smith in around 700 BC. Or as we know it now, Arthur's Seat, remnant of a volcano which erupted some 325 million years ago, site of chapels, forts and columnar basalt cliffs and more recently home to the World Mountain Trophy. What better venue for the final handicap of the season? Note the earlier start time so that we finish before dark!
The New Route:

Meet/Start at St Margaret's Loch Car Park. There are 5 summits to visit in order: Arthur's Seat, Crow Hill, Dunsappie Crag, Whinny Hill and finally an extra sting in the tail, Salisbury Crags, before racing back to the car park. Route choice is up to you but the summits must be visited in this order.
