Scottish Islands Peaks Race
2007

Unfortunately, storm force winds on the west coast of Scotland caused the race to be abandoned after the run up Ben More on Mull. The transfer of runners to and from the land proved extremely tricky. Even putting up the marshal's tent was out of the question! The checkpoint on top of Ben More got blown away and Memec's runners ended up in the Sound of Mull. Jill Mykura (Aberzen) got back to Oban in time to get to Arran and the Scottish Championship race on Goatfell - but rough seas prevented her disembarking! It was a memorable weekend...

It was too windy to put up the marquee
