Yesterday’s Junior Run was slightly later than usual to accommodate participation in the “Pedal on Parliament” mass ride. There was a particular focus this year on improving safety for young cyclists, and the junior Joneses had a great time cruising from the Meadows, along George the IV Bridge and down the Royal Mile to Holyrood with liberal bike-bell-ringing.
We hung about at Holyrood for a bit wrestling and getting lost listening to the speeches, and then headed around to St Margaret’s Loch to meet more Carnethy Juniors for some running. There were ten keen beans tussock-tigging, Carnethy-chaining, and mini-handicapping around the lower knolls of Arthur’s Seat, and it was particularly nice to welcome new juniors Angus and Ruby.
