Easy Run: 5,7miles, 1 hr 19 mins, 408ft ascent Time for a longer run, with the threat of strong winds being unfounded we decided to head for a longer run on this mild October night. With 2 Men outnumbered by 9 Ladies we headed through the Hermitage to Easter Craiglockhart. With the usual nettles, tree roots, wall climbs and pailing squeezes we managed to summit safely. The only injury was Moira’s Nose that was attacked by a borrowed headtorch with a strap that was too loose. A lovely social run followed by a nice beer. Willie Gibson |

Social Run: 8.5ish miles, 1500ft ascent
A gentle loop of some of the hills to the south-west of the city. A classic Willie Gibson route, in fact. Blackford, Craiglockarts, Braids and home, all run slightly faster than intended, but I lay the blame for that firmly on everyone else. As Ross did say at the time, the faster we go the more beer we get at the end before last orders. Maybe that was the cause of the unsocial pace? Who knows! I worked-up a thirst, and I was glad that they still have Edinburgh Gold on tap at KB. |
