Apart from a slight hiccup over parking at the ski centre where a major ski competition was being held, Shane Bouchier’s last race as director was a great success with good running conditions. Joel Sylvester has a hard act to follow! The men’s record was broken by Dark Peak runner, Kris Jones, in a new record time of 2:15:52, over half a minute off Murray Strain’s record, with Andy Fallas second in 2:18:02. Murray Strain (the only other person to have broken 2hrs20 for the race with his 2:16:23 in 2013) finished in third place this year with 2:26:41. First lady was Charlotte Morgan in 2:52:08, with Carnethy clubmate, Helen Bonsor, second in just over the 3hrs. Another record broken was the number of finishers. With well over 300 starters, 295 finished which smashed the previous best (set last year) of 265. Some stats here. Previous results here.
