By the witching hour there were 17 of us.
We headed for the hermitage via Craigmillar Park and the edge of Blackford. After crossing the wooden bridge we took the off track inside route along the south side of the Hermitage. At the end we crossed the road and jumped the wall into the Garage and on into Braidburn Park. After a swift circuit of The Park and Emma discovering that sloping grass and trail shoes don’t mix, we regrouped at the information board and I recalled seeing the open air theatre in use in my youth. That was a long time ago.
With democracy in action as we discussed Blackford Summit, the Hill Runners won and we headed up the steps to the trig and back across the golf course. Back in time for a shower and to meet the 7 o’clock slower group, I headed for a lonely sit in the pub until the four fasties turned up and the five of us enjoyed a quick rehydration session.
