It was a lovely night for a run, the 7 O’clockers had headed off at some pace and in good numbers and 8 of us were ready for an easy run to the Craiglockharts.
It was lovely running over the golf course, but Richard’s torch wouldn’t go on so he was keeping close by. At the Observatory we headed north and went onto the contouring path which winds its way through the Gorse and Broom. Heather and I were at the front and I could hear the gaggle of chatter behind me. I stopped for a regroup as we reached the main path. There was no Richard. Where was the poor torchless Chandler. The dutyful wife, accompanied by Lindsey, went back and we waited, and waited, and waited. I phoned Sandra who was at the Observatory by now and she was beginning to worry. We decided to regroup and go back to KB. As Heather, Hayley and I set off a torch came into sight. We had found the lost soul, with a now sorted torch.
Thoughts of Craiglockarts by now gone we visited all the summits of Blackford and the Golf Course Corner. We had to make 4 miles for Hayley’s fit bit counter. A lovely run 4.2 miles with a 20 minute rest after the first mile. Next time we are going to set off roped together!
