SHR report and results here
Let’s start young:
Liam Braby came 5th in the Under 23 category.
Our very own Dessie Flanagan took the individual over 40s title, narrowly beating Stewart Whitlie who clearly doesn’t understand the laws of ageing. Michael Reid finished 5th.
Special mention to Andrew Fallas, who, despite suffering from injury problems this year, finished a superb 3rd in the Senior Men’s category (with Dessie Flanagan, Stewart Whitlie and James Waldie also in the top 10).
Stewart Whitlie won the over 50s category outright. Harry Gilmore also finishing in the top 10, and Digby Maass just outside the top 20.
Digby finished 5th in the over 60s (couldn’t find a better photo, sorry!)
Carnethy won the Senior Men’s team (for the 16th time since 1999) and were joint first in the Over 40s with Shettleston. 11 Carnethies finished the championship and each of these gets a valuable SHR mug – these are the 8 mentioned above plus Andrew Patience, Simon Titmuss and Chris Tinning.
As for the females – astonishingly, we didn’t have a single female finisher of the Championship. That needs to be sorted for next year! Weirdly, our female team finished 6th overall. There ye go!
