7 turned up at KB for the last training session of 2015. With a guest appearance from Matt Grove, who was doing some serious training for the New Years Day Triathlon. Everyone was happy to follow Matt’s training programme, so we headed up to Blackford Hill and then on towards the Braids. On the way Matt led us into the Buckstone Inn for a pint of very Christmassy beer. Then onto Braid Hills with a wonderful view across the city, the castle bathed in blue lights this week. From the Braids we ventured to Mortonhall and couldn’t pass the Stable Bar without a pint of Stewarts 80/, (or 2 as is turned out). And then we headed straight for Leslies Bar to complete nine miles in just under 3 hours. We discussed the hill racing season of 2015 and disclosed our PBs. After that my memory is hazy, except I arrived home at 3am.
Happy New Year everyone, and best of luck to those doing the New Years Day Triathlon – I hope you’ve trained as hard as Matt. Graham Nash
