It was time to re-engage the race legs in Selkirk on Sunday. 45 out of 253 starters were from Carnethy in one of the most popular non-Carnethy races in the calendar. The race was full within about 12 hours back in December.
Best described as a hilly trail race with a sting in the tail. The first half of the course takes runners up Peat Law, the Three Brethren in one almost continuous long climb. This is followed by a fast continuous 5km downhill, assuming your legs want to go faster. Runners get a perfect view of the final punishing Foulshiel Hill before a steep downhill to finish.
Total distance 21.4km and 800m of climb.
Eóin Lennon won the race in a time of 01:30:25. This was the 3rd fastest course time since 2013 when the race began.
