The last of the SHR champs series and also a Carnethy championship race attracted a large field intent on getting their mugs. The weather was dramatically superb with clouds wreathing the hills and bright sunshine, and not cold. It’s a short race (if 6 miles is short!) but with plenty of climb to the summit at 1044m where the views really open up. The splendid organisation and multiple sponsors gave us a goody bag (in the form of a shoe bag), an excellent waterproof Harvey’s race map, a feast at the finish, and a long list of prizes. The race was won in record time by Prasad Prasad and the ladies race by Jasmin Paris. Other places were taken by Paul Faulkner, Joanne Anderson, Cali Ingham and others who, I’m sorry to say, I can’t remember. Hopefully either a more competent statistitian or the results will be along shortly to put this right.
The grand collection of spot prizes were also allocated in a novel way – to those who wanted one, or were thought by someone else to deserve one. In this way I acquired a very nice running top! A great day out! All the photos here and the results are here
