Well done to Digby on an fast one for the conditions.
Sunny and pleasant though the showers weren’t far away. Tourists everywhere – quite a few coming down the Gutted Haddie. Crossing from the top of the zigzags into the Gutted Haddie was definitely a good idea to avoid the thickets of gorse and bramble lower down, and probably the only point you could cut across. The top wasn’t quite as bad as the other day but still it was good not to have to battle to get to the trig point (festival exemption!).
Tempting to join them sunbathing on the top of the crags!
The summer vegetation is at its thickest now – especially on the climb through the gorse and rosebay willow herb up Whinney Hill – there were bees, butterflies and ladybirds on the thistles and lots of wild flowers on haggis knowe.
Looking forward to next one on Monday 4 September
