Good to see some new faces for the 7.30 run. Slight miscalculation saw 4 miles around the Hermitage stretch to 4.7 as we revisited Blackford Hill and tried to work out which distant hill was Ben Lomond. KB still closing at 9 and there was no sign of the 7pm runners. |
Conditions were perfect for a longer run via Mortonhall. A bit of a shock for newcomer Przemyslaw who had gone for a hard run in the morning before getting the run email. A good pace going out with little need to stop for regroups. A route new to most people around Mortonhall added extra interest with long grass etc. and a few barbed wire fences. No objections were raised by the other 9 runners when I suggested going up Caerketton – so we did. Perfectly still on top and a choice of screes on the way down. We spread out slightly more on the way back as some of us (me) back to tire. A final climb up the Blackford steps confirmed we had done enough to deserve a drink in Leslie’s Bar Michael |
