The results for the 2018 Hunter’s Bog Trot were just posted on Scottish Hill Racing and I realised that no one had written a report. It was a lovely day for one of my favourite races. It is a favourite not because it is short and steep but because it is so close to home you really have no excuse not run it. A hill race in the city is a great thing! And each year the weather seems to be wonderful. According to the results seventeen Carnethies ran the race (I missed the team photo if there was one) and there were a few others dotted around the course. Special thanks to Rachel Normand for cheering and taking some great photos. The highlight of the day for me was seeing Bill Gauld come in to the finish. Just being able to walk up the crags is a tall order for many octogenarians let alone getting around the course in just over an hour. Massively inspiring. Other finishers included Liam Braby (6th overall), Mary Lye (2nd F40), Stewart Whitlie (1st M50 and 10th overall), Neil Gilmore (3rd M50), Joanne Thin (3rd F50) and Gordon Cameron (3rd M60).
