Thanks to everyone who showed up on Friday evening for the finale of the Alternative Carnethy 5, and the inaugural Captains’ Challenge. Contrary to popular belief, the captains put a lot of thought into the location of controls, and even more thought into the selection of memorable 3 letter codes.
On the night there were 29 participants, including Team Nasher who visited WAX and BUM (order unknown at this time). The overall winner was Konrad, with the magic combination of PEE then BUM then EAR and WAX (4/3/1/2). Other popular combinations were PEE/WAX/EAR/BUM (4/2/1/3), and its reverse BUM/EAR/WAX/PEE (3/1/2/4).
Other highlights of the evening included Bob Lyons’ double PEE visitation at the start and end of his circuit, Jeff Roberts’ venture into out of bounds territory (the road) to get back to the finish and David Harrington emerging from the other end of the car park (route unknown!).
Thanks to Willie Gibson for helping with the start and finish, and to everyone who participated for returning safe and sound – a literal and metaphorical dry run for the Equinox celebration next weekend.
