Wed Fast Run
11.1 miles, 1hr 51min, 2,874ft ascent.
With a Full Moon forecast we decided on a run to the Pentlands taking in Allermuir and Caerketton. Five of us headed out via Blackford Hill and Swanston, where Euan decided to head back to KB due to a niggly knee (or maybe my chat was rank).
On the way up to Allermuir we saw the extremely fast group led by Andy Fallas. We had a breather on the summit and debated the highest point visible from Allermuir, suggestions included Ben Hope, The Alps and Mount Everest (for info its Ben More at 3,852ft, 62 miles away). The last of the extremely fast group (Helen Bonsor) passed us and we continued onto Caerketton and returned to KB via Mortonhall to find the bar shut and the building closing. A nice steady pace run. We didn’t see the Full Moon, but the it was a full Sun anyway.
