Fast Run: 9.5miles, 1 hr 40 mins, 2,085ft ascent Five in the fast group and we decided on staying local following some tired legs from the weekend’s racing. From Blackford Hill we found ourselves at the precipice of the old quarry in the Hermitage and had to retrace our steps. Across to Braid Hill we then looped around Mortonhall and back to Braid Hill summit where we met Willie and his harem. From the summit we crossed the Braid Hills golf course (must be time for golf sprints soon) to the driving range and then back down the Hermitage where we ascended “The Arete” (grade VS) and back to Blackford Hill where we saw Willie and his harem again. A cool down jog back to KB completed the run nicely. Graham Nash |

The easy social had 5 runners and we headed across the golf course to the masts on Braids and back to Blackford via The Hermitage, a lovely social run with lots of regrouping. Willie The very social run: Four women ran after Willie in a very social run on Wednesday. On the way up the Braids Willie said he was flagging (but we didn’t believe him!). Almost at the top of the hill he asked if we wanted to run some mower… We reached the summit of the Braids just ahead of the Fast Group and then it happened again: we beat them to the top of Blackford Hill! The Very Social Group are obviously getting faster ☺️ Many thanks to Willie for a great run! Margaret and Linda |
