Andrew Terrill – The Earth Beneath My Feet
‘A long(ish) walk across Europe’
In this talk, Andrew Terrill will describe a (roughly) 7,000-mile, 18-month walk he took back in 1997 and 1998 that led from Calabria in southern Italy to the North Cape at the top of Europe. Consider the talk an introduction to some of Europe’s finest and least know wild places, a few you’ll probably have heard of and even visited, but many you surely won’t have, as well as a celebration of ‘coming home’, of finding connection with wild nature despite a sheltered suburban upbringing far removed from it. Europe can be a crowded place, as we all know, but this talk is about the ‘other’ Europe.
