What do you call a hill race without any hills? Cross country.
Angela, Neil and I flew the Carnethy flag on a gusty day in darkest Renfrewshire with the impending Storm Ciara looming large on the horizon. The playing fields course was no more than undulating with one drag but there was no shelter as it constantly turned in and out of the wind. A mix of over 350 road and hill runners defined by either spikes or studs churned the mud to add to the challenge.
Angela was flying and was beaten by just 1s for the title but had the consolation of winning V45 gold. Neil and I were making up the numbers but finished top third.
Also spotted were Jamie Thin and Bob Johnson.
