Due to some late call offs there was only a small band of Carnethies down at The Great Lakeland 3-Day over the bank holiday weekend.

Michelle Hetherington (+ daughter Madeline) did the Long course together every day.
Phil Humphries and myself did the short course every day and teamed up on day3.
Matthew Girvan did a mix of long and short courses and was also a guest celeb showing his Dusk till Dawn film on the pre-event Fri night cinema.
Eleanor and Fiona Mackenzie did a mix of short and café.
Saturday’s weather was nice and sunny in the morning but turned later-on in the afternoon when we were mostly in the event marquee enjoying our free beers and various de-hydrated meals, or cheesy chips and pizza.
Sunday was claggy, wet and cold up high and turned into a bit of a suffer-fest for some of us, Michelle and Madeline in particular who were on a 40K+ day.
Monday was better again with no wind and only some clag up high and was generally a great run back to Braithwaite.
I think everyone had some great days in the hills and will have various tales to tell of their adventures. Carnethies are so famous some even feature in the post race interviews, see https://www.greatlakeland3day.com/news/2022/5/3/thats-a-wrap-3-days-of-epic-running-on-the-silva-great-lakeland-3day
The event really does have a relaxed and friendly atmosphere during the day and in the marquee afterwards and was a great weekend away. If you’re looking for an excuse to miss Stuc a Chroin next year, I think The GL3D normally clashes.
Apologies if there were others who I’ve missed.
