This weekend Glentress Peel Centre near Peebles hosted 4 races. 21k & 10k trail races on Saturday and 50k and 65k ultras on Sunday. Unlike the Tinto race in early in November, weather conditions were very kind. Carnethy members were in action in all 4, some great results below.
Glentress Winter 21k, 910m
Rowan won – “not second!”, having come 2nd in both 2018 & 2019. Rowan’s time of 1hr 21mins 22secs was a new course record. With a slightly different finish this year might mean it’s a different new course record.
Just 48 seconds separated the top 3 female finishers, who finished consecutively 17th, 18th, 19th overall.
• Rowan Boswood 1st male, 5 minutes clear of 2nd place.
• Kirsty Mcbirnie 1st female v40 (6th female overall)
• Andy Lamont 1st male v40 (5th overall)
• Steve Best 3rd male v40 (13th overall)
