Goatfell race on 20th May saw many a Carnethy stomping up Goatfell on Arran, with fantastic running from members in multiple categories. The route took runners along a significant road section, steadily up Goatfell’s trail, and up its boulder-scattered summit path, which was then descended rapidly requiring technical running from all. Conditions were warm with a high cloudbase, affording runners a spectacle view over the island from the summit of Goatfell, not that there was much time to enjoy it! Great running from Ali Masson coming in 2nd, Andy Fallas 14th, and Iain Gilmore 20th. Holly Page won the female category in a storming run, ahead of Helen Fallas and Ellie Johnstone. Fantastic running all round. All the more impressive was the number of those who ran and then stayed on to marshal the Scottish Islands Peaks Race at Lamlash, a tiring weekend for them no doubt!
