Saw this race in the Carnethy Archive from 2017 and thought it would be an excellent birthday bash . The weather was perfect clear, light wind and a tad cool on the tops but no ice. The steep ascents are something of a trudge but provide brilliant descents for those who can negotiate the slippery paths. It was only my second real race of 2019, and hopefully I’ll do more in 2020. Carnethy had five runners in the race . First home for us was Angela Mudge who was also First Lady, I think in eleventh position . Not sure of other placings as results weren’t out as I had to leave early. This a very friendly race in the tradition of hill running, just turn pay your entry and run. Many thanks to the organisers.
