Formerly called the Graham Clarke Memorial Race, this was (surprisingly) my third time racing around the Knockhill Track, having completed two of the Chequered Flag events in 2014/15. It’s a tricky surface and although very smooth, it cambers and undulates a bit, with a testing climb towards the finish line, and various cross winds throughout.
As for the race itself, there was not much to it: Three laps of the track then home for tea. Painful, but over before you know it. I was the only Carnethy present in the 156 finishers and came 25th in 23.33 for the 3.7 miles. The race was won by Alistair Brockie of Corstorphine AAC in 21.28, with first female Samantha Laird of Carnegie Harriers in 25.10.
