On Monday only two Carnethy ladies (Kirsty and me) were out running. Joanne had a cold and went for a walk instead. At Joanne’s suggestion, Kirsty and I followed the route of the Red Moss Handicap up to the Red Gate and over to Hare Hill. The heather was in full bloom with the smell of honey all around us. We decided to continue our heather experience by taking an alternative route back to Bavelaw which involved a slightly less welcome close encounter with the bracken further down the hill. The sun was just setting as we crossed the bridge over Threipmuir. A wonderful run to celebrate my retirement today!
