As a large crowd (40+, don’t know exactly how many) gathered for the first Handicap recce of the year at 6.30 on Wednesday, an onslaught of rain and wind turned up at exactly the same time to give everyone a thorough soaking to see us on our way. We separated into three groups although there was a fair amount of movement between groups 2 and 3. The weather cleared to provide some stunning views from Allermuir. People seemed to like the down-and-up through the woods below Woodhouselee although it might be less enjoyable at race pace. The clouds darkened and produced another bucketload on the way back but most people seemed to have enjoyed a refreshing social evening in spite of being cold and wet. With so much social chat going on, the only question is how well will everyone remember the route….?
Remember the race itself is Wednesday 20th April. Hope to see similar numbers and kinder weather. Sign-up here.

[Also a reminder for everyone to please bring adequate kit to handicap races and recces as the weather can change very quickly.]
