Anonther year, another Pub Run. Another Hangover.
It was at the Club Prizegiving party that The Ex-Pres brought up the Pub Run.
“Lets do a new route” so after a few days and a few emails we agreed a new route. Then I looked back at last years route and it was almost identical. It is funny how the Pub Run brings on amnesia , I cant imagine why.
So over 20 runners met up at KB for a swift half before setting off.
A quick Photo Call in the Hall and then we were off.
Liberton Rugby Club welcomed us as usual and half wy through our drink the Sumo Wrestle of the Presidentioal underpants took place. A danger to health and safety IMHO.
Then out onto the Rugby Pitch and on to “The Robins Nest”. Welcomed by the locals we all got rather overheated before posing outside for the Pub Website Photocall.
Ellens Glen led us a nice off road route to “The Waverley” where we had another half and another photocall.
The it was off to Coylies House. Jura nd Mince Pies. I reckon we frightened the neighbours with our Carole Singing.
Offroad again to The Stable Bar. A pint this time and some more Mince Pies and a warm fire. A quick chat with the locals and a few Hilarious Tales of Pooh from the New President (note to the next president to check the pants for skid “Marks”).
The rain came on as we headed out, so a quick stop in the archway to put on Waterprooofs before heading to Whitlies Whisky Garage. We lost Billy and Dorothy But Ex-Pres Jim went to the rescue. Whisky, Red Wine and tablet. Wonderful.
Braid Summit was next with a swift whisky-mac on the golf course on the (fair)way , then flavoured Gins (not liqueurs) by the top. They were rather strong but after diluting with Gordons Gin (That is the Runner Gordon and not the Gin!) Liqueur was quite palatable.
Then it was downhill all the way to The Waiting Room for a pint.
A great night as ever.
The morning after demanded some full fat coke!
