I thought that Trahenna would be a good place to take photos. Just walk/jog in from Stobo ahead of the pack and get set up on the steep slope. The aim was to try to capture the ‘essence’ of the final character building ascent. A fair number of people (including a spectating Jasmin) took their mind off the pain by picking blaeberries.
All went well until I heard a noise behind me after only a quarter mile. I turned round to see Graham Gristwood of Ochil HR loping easily towards me. Both cameras in the rucksack . . . a desperate fumble to get the wee one out while Graham said a cheery “Hello. Nice afternoon.” and then suggested I catch up to take his picture. So the winner’s picture, after running as hard as I can these days, shows his blurry back as he disappeared swiftly into the distance.
Managed to catch the next runners before the dam and the rest mainly on Trahenna. Apologies to anybody that didn’t take my (perfect) route – I either missed you, or was puffing too badly to get a steady shot. Quite a number of people took a left hand route through the trees and up the fence line – missed them too. Photos can be found in the Picasa albums here
