On July 2, I ran a round of the Pentland Hills, linking Allermuir and Dunsyre Hill (via another 40 summits). Starting and finishing at Swanston, I chose a route that first visited the western and south-western summits, returning north via the ridges of Mendick, Mount Maw, Spittal Hill and Scald Law. Boiling the round down to numbers, the distance was 51 miles, ascent and descent was about 4,000 metres, and the time was 12 hours, 32 minutes.
