*Update*
Every time you go for a run over the tops take a stone from the top of Scald Law and put it on Carnethy. We only need 3m off one and 3m added to the other if that, taking into account glacial rebound and a remeasurement by the Ordnance Survey. We can do it!
In anticipation we will revert to being called Carnethy Hill Runners. The hoodies unfortunately cannot now be changed.
……….
Carnethy Hill Running Club was originally named after the highest hill in the Pentlands.
Unfortunately it isn’t the highest hill (it is 573m) but the name has stuck. In fact Scald Law at 579m is the highest.
After much deliberation (ok heated argument) the committee has decided to rename the club The Scald Law Hill Running Club. We feel that the longer we used the old name the harder it would be to break the tradition, but we needed to be true to the original intention. The Carnethy 5 race will be renamed the Scald Law 5 race.
We realise the name is quite long so we anticipate it being shortened informally to ‘The Scaldies’, rather like The Lomond Hill Runners are known as ‘The Lomies’
Any gear that has been recently ordered will be a little delayed now as we will have to change the design. As an example here is the new design for the hoodies.
We wish The Scald Law Hill Running Club a long and successful future!
