2017 was not a great year for me for racing, with Scottish Hill Racing telling me I did not race at all! My new years resolution was to get out racing more. As Lisa and I were up north over new year I decided that the Aonach Mor would be a good race to do, to start the year. I entered online a couple of days before and it turned out I was the only Carnethy out of the 108 running. The route is pretty simple, starting at the carpark and running up to the Gondola station. I previously ran this race four years ago after a much messier Hogmanay, and going up I couldn’t decide if it was better sober or still drunk from the night before. Andrew Barrington won and Marie Meldrum was first female. I finished middle of the pack but I have done one more than last year and am back on the horse.
