Eóin now faces the challenge of the last race and potentially winning every race in the series. I was one of the few to fully embrace the XC spirit and find some really deep mud to fall into. The rest of the course was a good mix of pasture and woods; and the weather, while not sunny, at least was quite still. Results

Doddie Weir at the Gala XC
Just before the start of the Border’s xc race in Gala on Sunday the organisers of the series presented a cheque for £2.500 to Doddie Weir for his My Name’5 Doddie (MND) Foundation. A piper played Flower of Scotland, we all sang along, and then off we went. There’s a report and some good video footage on the Radio Borders web site: https://planetradio.co.uk/borders/local/news/watch-borders-cross-country-series-helps-get-name-5-doddie-foundation-running/
The Great Man was still at the finish when I plodded in a good thirty minutes after Eóin Lennon; he shook me warmly by the hand and congratulated me. I was touched and honoured.
