Zofia Lisowski-Janczak, Brian Kennedy, Stuart McMillan and Alan Risk all managed to run and bog snorkel their way round the 55 miles of the Montane Cheviot Ultra yesterday. Galen Reynolds won in a very speedy 9:46 considering the terrain and Nicky Spinks was first woman. The course was run anti-clockwise this year due to predicted wild weather which meant everyone had the luxury of tackling Comb Fell in daylight. I only saw two folk get so stuck that they needed hauled out by their mates. I’ve been injured all summer so was happy enough to have a great day in the hills and retire gracefully after 28 miles at Barrowburn. Next time will be better.
I am planning a Goat recce weekend next year as I really want to finish next time – details to come.
