Kirsty, Joanne, Hilary and Margaret met at Dalkeith for a run around the Country Park on Monday evening. Route finding was made more challenging by the crowd control barriers for the Midstock and Midfest event over the weekend. However, with a few more challenges (bridges with a limited weight load 😉 and a sandstone cliff face), we got onto the trail which took us on a great run out to the Meeting of the Waters of the North and South Esk rivers. The last time I was here was cycling with my sister in the spring when there were masses of bluebells. On Monday evening there was a lot of mud underfoot after the rain in the afternoon (and all the rain of the summer!). Anyway, we squelched our way round and had fun. Many thanks to Joanne for leading us back to the park gates. Kirsty and I agreed that most of the time we were totally lost and would still be out there running, if either of us had the job of bringing the group back.
