As we cautiously tiptoe out of lockdown, we have decided to get the 2020 Carnethy Handicap Series up-and-running in an unprecedentedly-new, socially-distanced, and world-leading format.
For each event, you have two weeks to complete the course. You can have as many goes as you want and send in your best time.
The first one starts at the Braids (course set by Nicki Innes): map, instructions, handicap times and everything else can be found here.
In the spirit of Trac’n’Trace, we ask you to send in high-speed selfies taken at specified Checkpoints, comments for reports, and Strava/gpx files, if possible.
It is essential that we follow the most recent set of Covid-19 guidelines from the Scottish government, and respect all other path users.
Our new CHO (Chief Handicapping Officer) Andy Lamont has inherited Phil Young’s formula for working out handicaps. First timers who need a handicap (or for any other handicapping questions – not bribes) please contact the handicapper – hcap@carnethy.com
Within the time period of the handicap you need to fill in the Google Sheet with details (name, time, etc.) and send your Checkpoint Selfies, strava/gpx files (if possible) and (ideally) a few sentences about your run OR post them on the relevant Pandemicap thread on Facebook. These will then be collated for a race report. See the handicaps page for links and details.
Have Fun!
