Lowther Show (near Penrith) on Sunday was the first FRA Race to be run since lockdown in England. The format was for 6 runners to go off in 5 minute intervals across the 13 mile/400m ascent course, through a river and over two local hills/fells. First male home was Chris Holdsworth (Calder Valley Fell Runners) in 1.19 and first female was Eve Pannone (Eden Runners) in 1.36. For me 170th in 2.27 and 210th in 2.45 for Sandra. The race was very well organised with lots of clear instructions on the Cov19 requirements in the event details and on the day. Though this was probably a day when the best result was thanks to the great work of the Organisers and Marshals, hopefully the start of a “new normal”, safe and enjoyable running for all.
