With the sun out, it was a lovely night for a run. The Easy 7:30 group headed for Tower Farm with a few pushes and stops. We ran a bit of the bridle path (a bit we missed last week) and headed across the junior golf course into the Hermitage. We ran through the Bluebell wood, which is only a week or so away from being spectacular. Then along the north side of the Burn on the high track and down to the wooden bridge. We climbed the Arete past the roped climbers before summiting Blackford and Home. 5.2 miles in 70 minutes. Willie Gibson |

An excellent evening for a longer run! Bright, cool, with a bit of wind to ensure you kept moving. Ed, Euan and I made a break for the hills, deciding on the classic “Fasty” wed run of Blackford-Allermuir-Caerketton-Mortonhall. It’s a route run so often it should really have a name….what about “The Nash Dash”, seeing as it’s his favourite route, like, ever? I was contemplating maybe doing next week’s handicap route, but then I remembered that I know nothing about it other than it starts around Swanston, so stuck with what I knew – which isn’t very much. Anyway, a grand evening, smooth running, though a surprising lack of pub stops (0 stops, disappointing) – something to improve on another time! Back to KB for a pint of Edinburgh Gold.
