After 3 trips to London this year’s spring marathon was a change of scene. Not so far south for an out and back route that wound its way through mostly leafy suburbia south west of Old Trafford. Lots of corners but no hills of course, though just before half way the road did rise into Altrincham then fall again as it retraced after a small loop. All fairly pleasant if nondescript, but very vocal support thanks to race numbers with names. For 20 miles I was comfortably sub 3 pace then began to slow until I ran smack into the wall somewhere between 24 and 25. It hurt but that support got me over the line. Thought I better dob myself in before Bob J did.
