The Very Social Group ran through some wild country around Prestonfield House Hotel, then clambered up a tree covered in ivy to get over a 7 foot wall and onto the Innocent Railway path. But this was nothing compared to the rock climbing up the cliff face of Arthur’s Seat. I had no idea this hill could be so scary! After barely recovering from the first rocky stretch, Willie pointed us in the direction of further delights which were sadly beyond my capabilities. I had visions of the fire brigade, mountain rescue or whatever having to be called out to get me off the cliff. In the end Willie was the knight in shining armour and helped me down onto a (much more sensible) path to meet the rest of our group. Slipping through the iron railings of the gate into Pollock Halls was a breeze after that. Thanks to Willie for an exciting run.
